Support for your
Broken Heart

What is Camp Heartbreak?

A Chance to Reset.

Heartbreak deserves its own healing space. It’s a universal experience often overlooked, yet its impact runs deep with few resources dedicated solely to it.

At Camp Heartbreak, we recognize the unique challenges of moving forward after loss of partnership. That’s why we’ve created a space for self-care, therapeutic support,  community, movement, mindfulness, and of course some good old fashioned fun.

Here, you’ll find a supportive network and expert-led workshops offering tools for emotional growth, renewed confidence, and real strategies to navigate heartbreak with a clear path forward—no matter where you are in your story.

Who is Camp Heartbreak for?

Are you:

  • Recently divorced?
  • Going through a separation?
  • Just out of a relationship?
  • Considering a breakup?
  • Hung up on an ex?
  • Consciously uncoupling?
  • Ready for a mindset change?
  • Sticking pins in a little doll as a form of revenge?

We've all been there. (Well, maybe not the doll???)

Breakups are a social obstacle, yet we're often left to face them alone. We want to embrace solving social challenges socially, creating a "third place" for connection, support, and the power of being human—together. Come on your own, with a friend, or as a group—because healing is better (and less voodoo-y) when shared.

About
The Camp

Camp Heartbreak takes place at the beautiful Can-Aqua property, 2.5 hours North of Toronto, nestled in the serene Canadian wilderness. The 160 acres of forest, two private lakes, nostalgic cabins, and campfires under starry skies provide the perfect atmosphere for unplugging and reconnecting. (And did we mention the camp has its own maple syrup production facility? We’ll take care of your sweet tooth too!)

    Eating

We have an award-winning chef and restaurateur coming in and creating an eclectic, locally sourced, and scrumptious menu that will ensure that in between your camp adventures, you’re always well fueled and totally inspired to grow and rebuild yourself.

It’s also important to recognize how important our food is for overall health, as what we put in our bodies impacts us in so many ways. Our menu is designed to be nutritious, thoughtful, and a highlight of the experience.

Food is also something we have to make choices about every single day, which can sometimes be confusing or stressful. Our hope is that we can demonstrate that it is also an outlet for creativity and a driver of happiness. These ain’t your grandma’s brussel sprouts! Unless you love them? In which case, carry on!

While the final menu will be dictated by what crops have done well and what’s looking fresh come camp time, you can check out our sample menu here.

    Sleeping

This is a big one! We can all agree that sleep is enormously important, because unlike every other debate on earth, everybody agrees that a good night’s sleep is absolutely imperative to making it through the day. Even if that day is easy and laid back, nothing stands upright when you’re exhausted.

Our camp’s sleeping quarters are what we like to call 5-Star Rustic! True sleepaway camp cabins in a variety of formations. All-women, all-men, and mixed cabins of mostly 4, 6 or 8 bunks. We’ve also got a handful of single-sleep spaces for people who might find themselves too disruptive for cabin mates (Sleep with CPAP? No judgment!). Camp Heartbreak is taking sleep very seriously, and all campers will be required to fill out a sleeping questionnaire so our team can work their magic and to make sure we’re putting people exactly where they need to be to get a good night’s rest.

    Transportation

Attending Camp Heartbreak just got easier! For those traveling from Toronto (about a 2.5-hour drive), we’re offering a convenient shuttle service to get you here stress-free. Sit back, relax, and let us handle the journey while you focus on the experience waiting for you at camp. Reserve your spot when you register.

There is also plenty of parking available for those who choose to drive themselves.

    Programming

Camp Heartbreak Presents: The Next Chapter

The Next Chapter is a transformative group therapy program designed to support individuals navigating the emotional upheaval of breakups, divorce, and separation. Co-created and co-facilitated by a skilled divorce coach and an experienced psychotherapist, this program has become a trusted resource for people seeking to rebuild their lives after heartbreak.

For years, The Next Chapter therapy group has offered a compassionate space where participants can process their emotions, regain confidence, and move forward with clarity and purpose. The heart of this program is helping participants shift from a place of uncertainty to one of empowerment. Combining therapeutic techniques with practical coaching strategies, the program addresses the unique challenges of healing after heartbreak.

Together, we will process the losses we’ve experienced as a result of our relationship endings. We will explore the subjective stories we’re telling ourselves about our experiences and learn to tell stories that lift us up rather than keep us down. We will shift our focus away from other people and the past to focus on ourselves and both the here-and-now and where we choose to go. We will move through topics like forgiveness and acceptance, and we will learn to be present with what is here now with greater inner peace.

Through group discussions, targeted exercises, and a supportive community, The Next Chapter empowers participants to not only survive but thrive after heartbreak. This program is more than just a therapeutic intervention; it is a guided pathway to rediscovering joy, purpose, and a renewed sense of self.
